Purvis, Wanda Lee McDowell

Died peacefully on May 11, 2022.  She was born to the late Clarence and Ocie Skiles in St. Louis, MO on January 27, 1932.  Wanda accepted Jesus Christ into her heart at the age of 16.  She graduated from Cleveland High School in 1950.  Wanda retired as office administrator from Washington University.  She was blessed with a large and loving family.  Wanda is preceded in death by her 8 siblings; Velma Roberts, Odney Skiles, Berkley Skiles, Imogene Sanders, Jobe Skiles, Pat Schwendemann and Brenda Darden; husbands David McDowell and Charles Purvis; grandchild Nicholas Earnest.  She is survived by her 4 children Ruth (Ed) Purvis, David (Juliana) McDowell, Stephanie (David) Sayers and Rebecca (Ken) Meagher. Maw to Kathleen (Jeff) Branson, Jason Purvis, Ryan Purvis, Mike (Holly) Gregersen, Christopher (Jalynn) McDowell, Jeremy (Melissa) McDowell, Daniel Gregersen, Benjamin Sayers, Amanda (Lee) Phillips, Courtney (Brock) Argo, Austin Gardner, Ricky Meagher and Ryan Meagher; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Services: Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022, from 9:00 am until services at 10:00 am at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons Funeral Homes Gravois Location.  Interment to follow at St. Trinity Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Baptist Home-Arcadia Valley Benevolent Fund in Ironton, MO.
