William "Bill" Rigel

William ‘Bill’ Sherman Rigel, 85, of Pevely, MO entered into rest on Wednesday, April 13,2022 at his  home in Pevely.  Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, gardening, riding motorcycles and camping in his RV.  Bill rode his motorcycles until age 85.  He enjoyed his grandkids and great grandkids and never missed an opportunity to tell them he loved them.

Bill was retired after several careers.  These included Pastor, Police Officer, Photo Engraver, Prepress Supervisor, Private Pilot, Social Worker and Child Abuse Investigator as well as volunteering in the Civil Air Patrol, as a Chaplin and riding over 100 missions in the Patriot Guard.  Bill graduated the Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, CO and served 6 churches as Pastor.

Bill served in the Missouri Air National Guard and United States Air Force Reserves where he reached the rank of Airman 1st Class and received an Honorable Discharge.

He is survived by his wife; Brenda Rigel; 3 sons: William Rigel, Mark Rigel and Dwight Rigel; daughter; Pamela Rigel; 2 Stepsons Alfred English and Ron English; sister: Judy Schindler; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren all of whom he was extremely proud and loved very much.

Visitation will be at John L. Ziegenhein South County Chapel on Monday, April 18, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral service at same location on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at 10:00 AM officiated by Pastor Dave Verrett.  Burial following at Shepherd of the Hills in Barnhart.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
