Christine Waldron

October 14, 1944 - September 06, 2017
St.Louis, MO

It is with the utmost sorrow that we say goodbye to our beloved mother, aunt, cousin, and dear friend Christine Waldron (Smith). She passed away in her sleep on September 6th, 2017.

Chris was a loving and affectionate mother to Nikki Lachapelle (Waldron), and son-in-law Eric Lachapelle of Denver, and a second mom to Choko Gouneva of St. Louis. She was also a beloved aunt to Teddy, Kim, Bob, and Roslyn of South Carolina, James Jr. of Denver, as well as a loving cousin to a multitude of family all around the country.

Everyone who knew Chris will forever remember her for her bountiful generosity of spirit, infectious laughter and sense of humor. She lived life with abandon, loving her friends with unequaled ferocity and loyalty, and always standing up for decency and respect for all.

Chris was born in Batesburg, SC, lived and married in Denver, CO, and established most of her adult life in St. Louis, MO. Her unconditional loyalty lead to life-time friendships with her devoted friends, among whom Jeanie (John, Allison, Lauren, Heather) Bata and Lynn Kempf were her greatest support, and never a day went by that she did not cherish their unwavering bond and warm affection. Chris was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001, defeated it and was in remission since. She was very proud to be a survivor and always marched or donated to the cause of eliminating it for good. However, above all of her other accomplishments, being a mother to Nikki was her greatest achievement and joy! She was a doting parent, Nikki's best advocate and friend, and was blessed with a reciprocity of devotion and her child's unlimited love. Chris was a kind-hearted and steadfast person, the loss of whose love, laughter and smiles would leave the world that much poorer. She loved to have fun with friends and loved celebrating with her loved-ones, so we hope that all who knew her would raise a toast in her name! May the life she led be an example and a blessing to us all!!!

A memorial will be held on Sunday, September 10th, at 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm at John L. Ziegenhein & Sons funeral homes, 7027 Gravois Ave, 63116.
