My mother Evelyn Couch and Gladys were close friends who met through their bicycling group many years ago. They had many adventures together and talked on the phone almost daily. Gladys loved to tell the story of when we road the elephant together in Wisconsin and reminds us she has the picture to prove it. :) Gladys and my mother went to many Cardinal games, went on a hot air balloon ride and even rode a segway together. Sadly my mother passed away last week, but hopefully her and Gladys are on another adventure together.

Very sorry to learn of Gladys's passing. We shared many Saturday morning walks at the STL zoo years ago and "gabs" during breakfast afterward. She will be missed.

Dear family: Gladys made the Y a special place to visit and hang out. We all appreciated her smile and friendly sassiness. She was special to us all and will be greatly missed. Dean PS I have an electronic picture I would like to get to the family-could someone reach out? Thank you

Gladys had a zest for life and wanted to live as long as possible. She loved the children in the neighborhood and enjoyed getting them gifts. She embraced new technology and was online regularly and even paid her bills digitally. I was surprised to see her espresso machine.. She loved the gym (the Y)and loved her new friends there and the caring instructors. She loved bike riding and biked consistently.. On her 80th, she planned a bike ride to celebrate the occasion and we all went along on the Katy trail. I learned a lot from her about the way things used to be in our neighborhood over the decades and it gave me an appreciation for the past. We won’t see Gladys sitting on her porch anymore with her lovely rescue dog Missy. As this part of her journey has concluded, another more glorious one has started...and she is enjoying it with her usual zest for life...
